Punjabi actor-singer and Bigg Boss 13 finalist Shhnaaz Gill's father Santokh Singh Sukh has been booked on a charge of sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman in Jalandhar.
The victim claimed that the offence was committed inside a car at gunpoint. The case was registered on May 19 at a police station in Beas in Amritsar district.
The victim told the police that she was raped when she went to Sukh's house along with her friend on May 14 to meet her boyfriend, who was staying at his place.
Sukh reportedly took her to a place in his car on the pretext of taking her to meet her boyfriend and then raped her at gunpoint. The police said the victim alleged that she was threatened by the accused after the crime was committed.
Investigating officer Harpreet Kaur told the media that the accused is absconding. She said the victim didn't lodge the complaint immediately after the crime owing to fear for her life. But after consulting her friends, she decided to file a complaint against the accused.
