Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra are the 3 lead Bollywood movie directors who have given us great movies with melodious and memorable music in all their past directorial ventures. Karan Johar lived up to his name with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The music of ADHM has been topping the charts for quite some time now. Karan Johar is the only director who has retained that Yash Chopra touch in his movies. His movies depict women very beautifully, Aishwarya Rai in ADHM for instance.

Adtiya Chopra is another Bollywood movie director who we all adore for his musical sense. His movies were known for melodious music. He started his directorial career with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. DDLJ became the longest running Bollywood movie ever and music played a major role in its success. His next movie Mohabbatein is also remembered for the beautiful music album. Lata Mangeshkar's voice was common both the movies and we all know how melodious a song becomes when Lataji lends her voice.

Adtiya Chopra decided to do away with Lata Mangeshkar in 2008 when he directed Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The music level dipped for sure, but the song "Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai" still retained that Yash Chopra touch that we all love. Though Lata wasn't a part of this movie, Yash Chopra was alive and actively involved in the music album of RNBDJ. The music was appreciated by the audience and the movie did well at the box office too. Yash Chopra tried to recreate the music magic in Jab Tak Hai Jaan by hiring A.R. Rahman and Gulzar but the music didn't do well. Aditya Chopra had requested Yash Chopra to keep Lata Mangeshkar at bay. She was not involved in any song in that movie. As expected the music was average and forgettable because Aditya Chopra was actively involved. We missed Lata Mangeshkar's voice in Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Yash Chopra passed away a few years ago and Aditya Chopra was left all alone to make his next directorial movie after Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Let us analyze where he went wrong:

Cast: Yash Chopra heroines looked ethereally gorgeous and known for their beauty, be it Rakhee who immortalized Sahir Ludianvi's Ghazals in Kabhie Kabhie, the beautiful Rekha in Silsila, insanely gorgeous Sridevi in Lamhe and Chandni, the cutie pie Juhi Chawla in Darr or Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Pagal Hai, we all remember YRF heroines for their beauty. We expected the same in Befikre but Aditya Chopra had an unpleasant surprise for us by casting Vaani kapoor. Checked out the user comments on YouTube on Khulke Dulke song from Befikre. People ain't happy to see a heroine with Abs in Aditya Chopra movie. Comments like "It looks like two men are dancing", are quite common on Befikre videos on YouTube. Ranveer Singh has been lucky to be cast by SLB but it is quite debatable if the movies were hit because of him. He for sure doesn't have that SRK aura that was seen in the past Aditya Chopra movies. We feel Ranbir Kapoor would have been a better choice for this role. Ranveer Singh kis too loud for a romantic hero and people don't really appreciate his overacting, pressure pumping in his dance moves and his weird facial expressions while dancing.

Music: What the hell was Aditya Chopra thinking while selecting the songs. Both Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra hired Pritam for their music but look what Karan was able to take out of Pritam in ADHM and what Aditya Chopra got in Befikre.
