Actor Ayyaz Ahmed is back on the small screen after a year. He says he needed a break from TV to try out different things.

The actor has joined the cast of "Shakti" as a bodyguard.

"My character is negative. That's how we're going to start. Later on, I don't know what the character will become," he said.

The "Kitani Mohabbat Hai" actor was quite busy during his break.

"For a year, I was quite busy with my restaurant, which I opened during my last birthday. So initially, I was busy with that and then I was concentrating on working on myself. I was also doing web series in between," he said.

"I really wanted a break from TV and I wanted to try different things. Trust me, it's totally different doing a web series as compared to a TV show. First of all, they have a fixed script, you know your character, you know your story. So you can make the whole graph of the character, how you can approach the character and you know where it's going to end. In TV, you have no idea when your character might get positive from negative or vice versa and same is with the story."
