Bollywood is standing up for the Rohingya muslims who are being ruthlessly killed in Burma.

Aung San Suu Kyi's won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991. However, many critics have called for her Nobel prize to be revoked, citing her silence over the persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. Described as the world’s most persecuted people, 1.1 million Rohingya people live in Burma, mainly in the state of Rakhine, where they have co-existed uneasily alongside Buddhists for decades.

Aung Sun Suu Kyi has refused to even condemn the violence in Rakhine state against the Rohingya muslim minority. She fears the backlash of military dictators. Despite her position as state counsellor, the military has retained significant political power, with an allocated 25% of seats in parliament.

Bollywood is standing up for the Rohingya minority Muslims and many Bollywood celebrities are now coming out in the open to criticize the Nobel Peace Prize winner. Javed Akhtar termed Suu Kyi's silence as Bizarre in this Tweet which said,

"Is it not bizarre and diabolic that Aung San suu kyi who is calmly watching a horrifying genocide n denying it is a Nobel PEACE prize winner"

His tweet was liked and retweeted by many, including Bollywood stars.
