"Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji" actor Ansh Bagri wants to steer clear of mythological and historical shows that require him to experiment with his looks.

"Mythology and historical shows are very interesting and the audience also likes them. But I am not ready for them as of now. I have seen 'Mahabharata' of the '90s. It used to be lovely. I don't see the same magic in the mytho-dramas that are made now. Also, I want to show people my real face so that people start recognising me. After that, maybe later, if something meaty comes my way, I will think about it," Ansh said.

The actor feels popularity and recognition are important.

"Film stars have their names written in the beginning of their films. They have it in the credits. But this doesn't happen on TV. I feel an artiste should get recognition," he said.

Thanks to social media, actors can be known beyond their characters.

"Nowadays, because of social media, you get to know everything about the actor," he pointed out.

On "Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji" getting a lukewarm response, he said: "My character in 'Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji' was very interesting and as an actor, I got a lot to do with it. The ratings of the show as per the channel were less, but overall it was not that bad because our show had been the slot leader.

"I won't say that the show was not seen by anybody. People have seen it but the ratings did not meet the channel's expectations. But our work was appreciated and for an actor, that matters the most. I am not disappointed that the show went off-air because I enjoyed shooting for it. I am just looking forward to doing a new different character now."
