Last week, two Bollywood movies were competing with one another. One was Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu starrer AndhaDhun and the other was a debut film of Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain, Loveyatri. The audience had been awaiting both the films. However, on friday after the release, the box office for the movies opened on an average note. Both the films were off to a slow start.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun has got succeed to impress many with its gripping story-line and received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. On Friday, it did the business of 2.70 crores with an occupancy of 15-20%. Then it witnessed a remarkable growth in footfalls and raked the business of 5.10 crores on Saturday & 7.20 crores on Sunday. After the weekend, the total collection of the movie was recorded 15 crores. On Monday, it remained higher than Friday with 3.75 crores and raised 4 days total collection to 18.75 crores.

On the other hand, Salman Khan’s highly-promoted production LoveYatri has received almost positive reviews from the viewers but still took an average start. In the opening weekend, it registered the business of 6.90 crores that included 2 crores on Friday, 2.10 crores on Saturday & 2.80 crores on Sunday. Now newcomers Aayush Sharma & Warina Hussain starrer this musical romantic drama has stepped-in on weekdays and faced a considerable drop in footfalls. On Monday, LoveYatri minted the amount of 1.35 crores with a drop of 32.5% than Friday and raised 4 days total to 8.25 crores.

Since the audiences are loving the performances by Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the film, it is expected that these numbers will grow even more post the weekend as the word of mouth will spread. On the other hand, failure to make an impact with the story, Loveyatri might continue to show poor performance during the week as well.
