Fanney Khan is an upcoming movie starring Aishwarya Rai, Anil Kapoor and Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat. Directed by Atul Manjrekar, Fanney Khan is about a struggling singer who wants his daughter to make her mark in the music world.

Anil Kapoor will be reuniting with Aishwarya Rai after 17 years. They were last seen together in 'Taal' (1999) and 'Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai' (2000). Anil and Aishwarya won't be paired opposite each other in the musical comedy. The makers had approached Akshay Oberoi for the lead opposite Aishwarya Rai, however the actor declined the offer. Akshay Oberoi was approached for the film. Talks were initiated with the actor but it didn’t work out eventually. Now, the makers are still hunting for a young actor.
