Born on August 15, 1971 in London to Arshad Sami Khan a Pakistani diplomat of Afghan Pashtun origin, Adaan Sami, though an Indian Citizen now, has Indo-Afghan blood. His mother is originally from Jammu and Kashmir state of India. Adnan Sami has therefore chosen a movie titled 'Afghan: In Search Of A Home' for his Bollywood debut.

Adnan will make his acting debut with Afghan In Search Of A Home directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. He will be seen in the role of an Afghani musician. The film will have seven songs composed by Adnan Sami. The lyrics are penned by Anvita Dutt.

The story is about a musician from Afghanistan and what happens to his journey in finding his home. It is a heart- wrenching tale of an artiste. The shooting for the movie will be conducted in Delhi, Amritsar, Banaras and a then there is a 10-day schedule in Afghanistan. The story starts from Afghanistan and then it continues in India - it goes to Delhi Punjab and it concludes in Banaras.
