Some say dance is a way to find yourself and lose yourself at the same time. For some dance is a form of prayer, while some use dance as a way to express their emotions. However, for Karan Khandelwal dance is what gave him confidence and he owes his acting career to his love for dance. He is currently seen in Dangal TV's show Ranju Ki Betiyaan. On this #WorldDanceDay Karan shares how dance gave him the confidence to act and express different emotions effortlessly.
Sharing about this, Karan says, "My journey with dance started with the song 'Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast.' Since I was young I always danced Bollywood dance style and in my hometown, I was part of a group where we used to practice and choreograph together. I admired Terence Lewis and when I came to Mumbai I wished to be a part of his team but wasn't able to as I didn't have any connections. Later I joined another group where along with my studies, I performed at award shows, entertainment gigs or private events. Besides Bollywood style, I loved dancing contemporary, salsa, break dance, hip hop. I believe that dance is something you can't master in a lifetime as it continues evolving."
He also adds, "Dancing is my passion and it led me into acting. It gave me the confidence to act, face the camera and express different emotions easily. Nowadays I don't get to dance as much as I want to with shooting the show Ranju Ki Betiyaan and among other things. But once in a while, I do catch up with my friends who are dancers, choreographers and spend a couple of hours dancing and practicing with them."
Dance is indeed a common language that brings people together.
