1. During the Shooting of Khuda Gawah in Kayan, Afghanistan, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan had received a very special gift from an influential man in the Baghlan Province of Afghanistan. Sayed Mansur Naderi had invited Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan to Kayan and gifted him a beautiful Horse as a token of appreciation and also to play the game of Buzkashi.
Sadly, Mr. Bachchan couldn't take the horse to India. Mr. Naderi belongs to the National Solidarity Party of Afghanistan and resides in Kabul now. His Daughter Farkhunda Zahra Naderi is a well-known rights activist in Afghanistan and is son Sadat Mansoor Naderi serves as Urban Development minister in Afghanistan. This Info has been provided by Kayan resident Qais Hamrah who was witness to the filming of Khuda Gawah during his childhood.
2. Nagarjunas wasn't the first choice for the movie. Jackie Shroff was earlier approached for the role. Later Sanjay Dutt was signed for the role of Inspector Raja Mirza but he dropped out of the project after shooting some of his scenes.
3. Afghanistan's then president Najibullah provided the whole production unit of Khuda Gawah with Air Force and Ground Security

4. The title song of Khuda Gawah was recorded on June 17, 1989. Mr. Bachchan participated in the music sittings a few days earlier at his Mumbai residence every evening along with music directors Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
5. Bollywood actress Farha (Tabu’s elder sister) was initially approached to play the role of Inspector Heena Singh (played by Shilpa Shirodkar).
6. The producers hired 20 air-conditioners to keep the atmosphere cool because of the thick woolen costumes.
7. Khuda Gawah was nominated for 9 Filmfare awards. It won 3.
